真钱花牌注册Uninspiring Pioli

But this is Inter that we are talking about, a club that have won no less than 30 domestic trophies and are famous throughout the world. Just six years ago, the Nerazzurri won the Treble under Jose Mourinho, bringing home the Scudetto and Coppa Italia trophies as well as a Champions League victory.

Of course, the former Lazio man was always going to accept what is both the most prestigious position and the biggest challenge of his career, but Inter have lacked the courage to do what it takes to truly succeed. The toughest choice would have been keeping De Boer for long enough to either let him turn things around, or to wait until a top Coach was available as a replacement.

A 4-0 defeat to Chievo and 5-0 at Napoli in the opening four rounds of Serie A seemed a direct consequence of the team’s psychological collapse after Champions League elimination. By Week 31, Pioli’s side were eighth, and a 4-1 defeat to Roma in the Derby della Capitale was the final straw. The Parma native was fired and replaced by Simone Inzaghi with just seven games remaining.

Whilst his record might be sufficient for mid-level Serie A c365娱乐开户lubs, any attempts to work out the thinking behind the appointment at a club like Inter are futile. With the side already 13 points behind leaders Juventus and all but out of Europe, the season is already a write-off in terms of silverware.

It is a feat that hasn’t even been emulated by the current Juventus side, despite five successive league titles, but the memory of this dream year couldn’t be further away for Inter fans. This ‘annus horribilis’ has involved the appointment of De Boer just two weeks before the season started, followed by a bitter spat between the club’s Ultras and captain Mauro Icardi over comments published in his autobiography.

In doing neither, Inter have bowed to the pressure and settled for a bland and uninspiring choice. That is not befitting of a club of such stature, and will certainly not help them return to prominence.

Despite assembling a squad full of talented players, the solution that the Inter management team have come up with is to appoint Stefano Pioli. But he is at best a Coach with an average record, without the experience of having managed players at the highest level and with no history of tangible success.

If Inter want to return to their former glory – winning titles at home and in Europe – is this really the answer?  Pioli’s career is a lesson in mediocrity, achieving his highest ever winning rate of 48.35% at former club Lazio.

In 2014-15, his first season in charge, he secured a third-place finish which allowed the club to compete at Champions League level after an eight-year absence and reacag投注官网hed the Coppa Italia Final, losing to Juventus.

Uninspiring. A word that can be used to describe Inter’s chosen replacement for Frank de Boer. Sacked after just 14 games in charge, the hierarchy at the club clearly felt the pressure of early poor results from the Dutchman and have plumped for a bland Coach to ‘steady the ship’.

The seat at the top table of European football was whipped away from under them at the preliminary round with defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. Dropping into the Europa League, the Biancocelesti were eventually eliminated in the Round of 16, losing 4-1 on aggregate to Sparta Prague. This was the biggest accomplishment in Pioli’s career.

With defeats to Sampdoria, Atalanta and Cagliari, the club have now decided to go against the instinct that brought De Boer into San Siro in the first place and fire him.

Such a disastrous start is真金赌博 obviously the reason why De Boer was relieved of his duties, but without a top Coach waiting in the wings to take over, why not give the Dutchman a chance to salvage the situation and properly implement his ideas?

The appointment of Pioli might not turn out to be disastrous, but when the Suning Group paid €280m for a majority stake in the club this summer, they were surely not dreaming of mediocrity.
